The Medhyk

“Medhyk” is the ancient Cornish word for ‘doctor’. This wine is named in honour of Angove founder Dr W. T. Angove, who made the journey from Cornwall to South Australia in 1886. Made in extremely limited quantities, no wine better celebrates the hard work and good fortune that has brought the Angove family to McLaren Vale.

The winemaking philosophy behind The Medhyk is uncompromising McLaren Vale quality and character. This begins with exceptional vineyard sites and meticulous fruit selection.

The handpicked fruit is sorted and destemmed into half tonne bins. After fermentation each parcel is basket pressed and matured in 100% French oak barriques for up to 18 months. The assemblage is rigorous to ensure only the finest barrels make the final blend.
